Disaster Response Readiness (DRR)
Two-Day Course; 14 contact Hours
Disasters and other critical events are almost a common occurrence these days. The devastation and losses are great, including loss of life. Many people have a desire to assist during the critical moments and don’t really know how they might provide assistance. Unfortunately, many respond “on faith” and discover that they are not prepared for the task of responding. They are not prepared for the context, the leadership, the responsibilities, the expectations, the team effort, the individual effort, the logistics of sleeping arrangements, eating routines, travel, reporting activities, acronyms and language of crisis events and disasters, or working with strangers. And even more importantly, they are ill prepared for the need to use tremendous amounts of self-discipline to care for themselves as they care for others.
