The Crisis Training Center (CTC) staff has been serving the response community for over 14 years. It began as a simple call to serve our community in a more tangible way. Having worked as a pastor and chaplain for a large organization that served the nation, Mike Henderson realized that the response community was being underserved. Armed with leadership support he spearheaded a program to bring much needed training and resources to those that serve during times of need.

Mission: Serving First and Community Responders by providing crisis intervention & stress management training, resources, support, and services.

Responders show up when others go through some of the worst times of their lives. They carry the burdens of what they see, hear, and are exposed to. Studies show us that responders experience higher rates of suicide, substance abuse, relationship issues, and mental health challenges. Research also shows that pre-intervention training and peer support improves mental wellness and long-term recovery.

Over the years as our reach grew so did our vision and desire to impact more lives. The CTC team decided to create a center where members of the response community can get education, resources, and support to strengthen them as they serve and help them thrive.

As our staff ventured out into our own nonprofit we were joined by nationally and internationally recognized instructors, culturally competent mental health practitioners, disaster response leadership, government agency chaplains, advocacy organizations, and academia.

Vision: Be a center where first and community responders can proactively prepare to mitigate the acute and cumulative impacts of critical incidents to aid their mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
